Blossoms Flourishing series (1999–2005)
I could never speak aloud my love for May-Der. Sometimes I woke up at night and thought of the words that I’d like to say to her: “May-Der, you never liked me painting in gray and dark colors, as pink was your favorite color. Although you have been gone for five years, there is not a single day when I could stop thinking of you — you are my life. Flowers in full bloom are tokens of our love. I will spend the rest of my life celebrating our love and lives. Although flowers like the plum and cherry blossoms do not last, what we had between us will last forever. Whenever I paint the cherry blossoms, I feel you are walking next to me amidst the trees and flowers. Your smile encourages me to forget my sorrows and gives me the strength to go on and to paint. Only you know what painting means to me. We will dance, love, and hold hands again in our next lives amongst the petals. May-Der, please come back into my blossoms and stay with me for eternity.”
