Existence and Extinction, Galleria Franco Noero, Turin, Italy (2024)

The existence of human beings is related to God, whereas the ex tinction of animals is related to humans. Yahon Chang’s solo exhibition at Franco Noero Gallery, Torino, intends to create a local dialogue mode with the gallery space through unique paintings, sculptures, and installation works, this exhibition aims to interpret his concept of “existence and extinction” concerns and thoughts on life issues. In this solo exhibition at Franco Noero Gallery, Yahon Chang will make full use of ink paintings and monotoned works to correspond to the pure white-based and bright space of the gallery. Along with the visual contrast, this exhibition will create changes in the rhythm and atmosphere of the space. The two themes of the exhibited works are: “Compassion, Light of Creation”, which presents Yahon’s contemporary interpretation of various Images and faces of God. The second is “Helpless, Black of Depression”, which shows the melancholy and anxiety of the endangered Taiwanese black bear.
